Expectations From New Olubadan Of Ibadanland - Association Of Mogaji
The association of Mogaji in Ibadanland have stressed the need for the Olubadan in council to continue to protect the interest of the people.
Making this submission during a courtesy visit paid by the council of Mogaji in Ibadan with Chief Alhaji Asimiyu Adepoju Adesola as its president, they urged the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Senator Kola Balogun to continue to protect the interest of the people of Ibadan.
Alhaji Asimiyu Adepoju Adesola in his good will message to the paramount ruler of Ibadanland expressed satisfaction with the royal father on his coronation as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland stating that over the years, he has been able to use his wealth of experiences in public and private sector to add value to the people through laudable projects he was able to attract to his federal constituency among other humanitarian activities he has engaged with over the years.
The president of all Mogajis in Ibadan explains that the expectations of the people are on the high side but he has no doubt in his mind that the paramount ruler will be able to use his good office to elevate the status of his people and also attract federal presence to Ibadan.
Being the custodian of the tradition of the people, the monarch was urged to protect the tradition of the people and also enjoined that appointment of chiefs among other positions, are done with merit without favour.
He also spoke about the activities of land grabbers in Ibadan stating that there is the need for the monarch to step up actions against the activities of land grabbers so as to enhance peace in the land.
Chief Adesola congratulates the entire people of Ibadan for having a seasoned personality that is well read locally and internationally as the Olubadan; adding that he has no doubt in his mind he will be able to use his exposure to elevate the status of Ibadan.
He reaffirms the determination of the association of Mogajis to support the OIubadan to forge ahead in all ramifications, pointing out that the people should also support the monarch in prayers.
In response to the expectations of the association of Mogajis, the Olubadan of Ibadanland. Oba Senator Lekan Balogun assured the people of his determination to meet up with the expectations of the people and always involve them in policy formation and execution in Ibadanland.
The monarch added that Ibadan is very rich in culture and tradition and he will do everything possible to ensure that the tradition of the people is being preserved while appointment of chiefs and critical stakeholders will be done on merit.
Guests were entertained with table water while all the Mogajis present during the visit took photographs with the monarch.
